Promoting Employment and Safety Through Specialized Training

The AbilityOne Program is a federal initiative dedicated to creating employment opportunities for people who are blind or have significant disabilities. Through partnerships with organizations such as SourceAmerica, AbilityOne not only provides meaningful work but also emphasizes comprehensive training, including specialized hazmat procedures for handling hazardous material spills.

Calidad recently conducted specialized training to ensure our employees are well-prepared to respond to emergencies with skill and confidence. Trainees learn how to assess spill types, select and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and execute containment and clean-up protocols that protect themselves, their colleagues, and the environment. Thorough education in reporting and emergency response guarantees prompt action and compliance with safety regulations.

This commitment to safety reflects the program’s broader mission: empowering individuals with disabilities to thrive in professional settings while upholding rigorous standards of health, safety, and operational excellence.
